REBORN

I told myself to forget you,

To live without you.

You were gone, 

But my mind wouldn't listen

I sailed to find love

I found you.

You tricked me,

Left me stranded.

I was stuck, nowhere to go

On that lonely island, no one but me

I was locked up in my thoughts,

Couldn't break free;

Couldn't move on;

I called out to you, my voice echoed;

You didn't answer,

No one did.

So I took my old self,

Set him ablaze.

Watched him burn with your memories.

And out of the ashes,

I arose, a phoenix.

Reborn of fire and pain.

And on that island,

I was made whole again.
