Guardian Angel

You needed a little space.

Yeah, you pushed me away.

You made a lot of mistakes;

You changed, you strayed

Left me standing all alone.

Went to face the world all on your own.

It wasn't so easy, was it?

But it would've been so easy to say you caused it;

To say you deserved it.

Protect myself and not defend you,

Start all over, try to forget you.

But I didn't.

My heart wouldn't let me.

Truth is, I didn't want to be without you;

Without your love; without your body close to me.

But I know you'd come back

Come back to heal.

And again I'd let you in.

I see their glances,

I hear their unspoken words.

They judge your actions,

They hate your deeds.

They didn't stay when you needed them,

But I did.

I don't care what they think.

If you fall, I'd be there to catch you;

If you're cold, I'd keep you warm.

If you lose your way, 

Trust me to find you.

You'll never be alone,

I'll hold you when things go wrong.

Love me or not,

I'll be here;

Listening and waiting.

I'll be your Guardian Angel.
