Conspiracy Theories: The New World Order & The Coronavirus

Conspiracy theories are a part of human existence. There have been conspiracy theories on various subjects matters, ranging from the Illuminati clamoring for world dominance to the Aliens hiding among us with the aid of agents in Men of Black.

Well, unsurprisingly, there's been a lot of conspiracy theories about the recent global pandemic. The Coronavirus, Covid-19 for short.

A theory was launched in Russia late in January by the leader of the far-right Liberal Democratic Party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who told a Moscow radio station that he thought the coronavirus was an American bio-weapon or a big plot by pharmaceutical companies to get richer, adding that “pharmacists will become billionaires in 2020”.

Moving over to the other side of the world, the Washington Times propagated the theory that the coronavirus was the result of a Chinese bio-warfare program.

The suspicions were fed by the fact that Wuhan is home to one of China’s top-level bio-research facilities, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which was part of a Sino-French cooperation project based on the Inserm Jean Mérieux P4 facility in Lyon, but there has been no clear link between the lab and the current coronavirus outbreak.

Rightwing radio show host Rush Limbaugh even went as far as saying that the virus was a Chinese communist conspiracy causing mass hysteria with a goal to bring down US President Donald Trump.

These are some of the various conspiracy theories that have been spread around via social media and other outlets and there are many more still brewing but we'll talk about one more. The link between the virus, the New World Order and World Domination.

What or Who is the New World Order?

According to Wikipedia, The New World Order or NWO is claimed to be an emerging clandestine totalitarian world government by various conspiracy theories.

The common theme in conspiracy theories about a New World Order is that a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government—which will replace sovereign nation-states—and an all-encompassing propaganda whose ideology hails the establishment of the New World Order as the culmination of history's progress. Many influential historical and contemporary figures have therefore been alleged to be part of a cabal that operates through many front organizations to orchestrate significant political and financial events, ranging from causing systemic crises to pushing through controversial policies, at both national and international levels, as steps in an ongoing plot to achieve world domination.

The outbreak of the Coronavirus led many to claim that the NWO had come up with yet another sinister plan to take over the world. This time, they would first of all reduce the world population from around 7 billion to around 1 billion. The reason for this claims by conspiracy theorist is the fact that the virus originated from China, the country with the world's largest population. From there, the virus would spread all around Asia, Europe, moving on to Africa and the Americas. 

When we think about reducing world population by about 6 billion we think about our favorite villain, Thanos and his famous snap that halves the population of the world in the blockbuster Avengers movie. This has led some theorists to make reference to movies such as Pandemic and Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War/Endgame saying that Hollywood had knowledge of the impending doom and were secretly sending us messages of what to expect in future times. They claim a cure is already in place which would be released in the summer of 2020 after the plot to reduce the world population has been successfully carried out.

Some people claim to have tried searching for information on the New World Order and their ties to the Coronavirus but with no results. The reason they say is that Google is being controlled by the New World Order and therefore, they wouldn't let any information that could expose them and their well formulated world domination plans.

How does the New World Order tend to take over the world? Well, nobody knows obviously unless you're part of the NWO, wink wink.

Debunking Myths and False Facts

Meanwhile, to fight misinformation, the World Health Organization has opened a webpage containing “myth busters,” for instance that hand dryers are not effective in killing the virus, nor is spraying alcohol or chlorine on the skin.

According to the site, it is safe to receive a letter or a package from China, as the virus doesn’t survive very long in the open. Also, Garlic, which may be effective against vampires, is not useful against the coronavirus.
